Mission statement
Our mission is to assist County government leaders and elected officials in developing and retaining a diverse and effective workforce while fostering employee commitment and performance; to assist employees of Berkeley County to attain safe, secure and satisfying work experiences and career opportunities; and to assist the County's citizens, suppliers, and business associates to cultivate beneficial relationships with us.

The responsibilities of Berkeley County Human Resources Department include fair and equitable employee relations, communication, compensation, benefits, recruitment, staff planning, adherence to policies/guidelines and aligning HR practice with business strategy.

Medical Indigent Assistance Program

This program provides assistance in payment of hospital bills to our indigent citizens. We are located at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, Room 119. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Any questions about the program should be addressed to 719-4106.

Prescription Discount Card

The NACo drug discount card program helps consumers save money on their prescription medications any time their prescriptions are not covered by insurance. The free cards are distributed in the sponsoring county and may be used at any participating retail pharmacy. The discount card is not insurance.
