Biography

Lourenza Thumbtzen is the Tax Collector for Berkeley County. Lourenza has held this position since February 2019.

Born and raised in Berkeley County, Lourenza is a graduate from the College of Charleston where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications. Also, Lourenza has a Certificate of Associate Science in Paralegal from Trident Technical College.

Lourenza Thumbtzen has been employed with Berkeley County since 2014. Prior to her role as Tax Collector, she was the Deputy Tax Collector.

Lourenza is a member of South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers & Tax Collectors (SCATT) and a member of the Tax Collectors of the Palmetto State (T.A.P.S) where she currently serves as Secretary.
