The Berkeley County Delinquent Tax Sale will be held on Monday, November 18 2024, at the LowCountry Conference Center (Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites) located 406 Sigma Drive, Summerville, SC.  beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. that day. If additional days are necessary to complete the auction, an announcement will be made to that effect before the close of business. The sale on subsequent days (if necessary) will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. or earlier. The Mobile Home sale will begin after the Land Sale ends.

Payment of Taxes Prior to Sale

All real property and mobile homes with delinquent taxes are subject to sale. To avoid the property being auctioned, all delinquent taxes, assessments, penalties, and costs must be received and processed by the Delinquent Tax Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024.  No payments will be accepted the day of the tax sale.

No personal or company checks will be accepted after Friday, August 30th 2024. Only cash, money order, cashier check, attorney’s trust/escrow account check or credit/debit card (with a 20 cents and 2.35% transaction fee) will be accepted for payment of taxes.

Real and personal property must be advertised prior to the tax sale. The listing will be advertised in the Charleston Post and Courier and available online on the County website (berkeleycountysc.gov) beginning  Thursday October 31, 2024, November 7, 2024, and November 14, 2024, in the name of the current owner and the defaulting taxpayer, defined by South Carolina statutes as the owner of record on December thirty-first of the year preceding the taxable year. The Mobile Homes will be advertised and available online for two (2) consecutive weeks, beginning November 7, 2024, and November 14, 2024.
