Mosquito Abatement Resumes Spraying

The warmer temperatures we are enjoying, combined with the recent rains have led to an increase in mosquito populations.  Berkeley County Mosquito Abatement personnel have been inspecting and treating mosquito breeding sites for several months and have now commenced adult mosquito control spraying.  We strongly encourage all horse owners to contact their veterinarian and have their horses vaccinated against Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).  Likewise, pet owners should take the simple steps to protect their dogs and cats from heartworms.  Beekeepers, cricket farmers, and all others with questions or concerns regarding mosquito pesticide applications should contact our office.
