The Berkeley County Delinquent Tax Sale will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the LowCountry Conference Center (Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites) located 406 Sigma Drive, Summerville, SC. beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. that day. If additional days are necessary to complete the auction, an announcement will be made to that effect before the close of business. The sale on subsequent days (if necessary) will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. or earlier. The Mobile Home sale will begin after the Land Sale ends.
Payment of taxes prior to sale
All real property and mobile home with delinquent taxes are subject to sale. To avoid the property to be auctioned, all delinquent taxes, assessments, penalties, and cost must be received and processed by the Delinquent Tax Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022. No payments will not be accepted the day of the tax sale.
No personal or company checks will not be accepted after Wednesday, August 31st,2022, since enough time must be allowed for the checks to clear the bank. Only cash, money order, cashier check, attorney’s trust/escrow account checks or credit/debit cards (with a.30 cents & 2.50% transaction fee) will be accepted for payment of taxes.

Advertisement of properties
Real and personal property must be advertised prior to the tax sale. The listing will be advertised in the Charleston Post and Courier and available online on the County website (www.berkeleycountysc.gov) beginning Thursday October 6, 2022, October 13,2022, and October 20, 2022, in the name of the current owner and the defaulting taxpayer, defined by the South Carolina statues as the owner of record on December thirty-first of the year preceding the taxable year. The Mobile Homes will be advertised and available online for two (2) consecutive weeks, beginning October 13, 2022, and October 20,2022.
Bidder registration
Anyone who is interested in bidding shall register as a bidder with the Berkeley County Delinquent Tax Collector’s Office. Registration for in-person and online bidding will begin October 6th and end on October 20th, 2022, at 5pm. Registration is being handled ONLINE ONLY.

If you are a spectator, televisions will be available outside the venue for viewing. Bidders must have a valid driver’s license or other acceptable valid government issued photo identification to be able to bid at our sale. Receipts and tax deeds will be issued in the name appearing on the bidder registration form.
There will be no bidder registration on tax sale day(s).
