Hundreds across the Lowcountry pull out their safari hats every year and visit Cypress Gardens for their annual “Swamp Safari”. The event has become quite popular with locals and will feature a full schedule of exciting swamp adventures.

Cypress Gardens Swamp Safari
Saturday, August 17th
10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

“We dedicate this day to highlighting and celebrating the unique wildlife found in our local swamps,” says Heather Graham, Manager of Cypress Gardens. “Visitors will get an even closer look at the habits and habitat of some of their favorite reptiles, birds, animals and insects. Alligator feedings and dip-netting are among the most popular presentations.”

The schedule of events* include:

10:00 AM – Dip-netting
11:00 AM – Music with the Charleston Hot Shots
11:20 AM – “Blow up the Swamp” – Swamp creatures magnified!
12:00 AM – “Reptile Encounters” presented by Tony Mills of the Coast Kingdom television series
12:45 PM – Get your photo taken with a corn snake or alligator
1:00 PM – Music with Jenni and the General
1:45 PM – Alligator Feeding
2:00 PM – “Butterfly Life Cycle Close Up”
2:30 PM – “Keepers of the Wild” presented by Early Mitchum, Wildlife Rehabilitation and Rescue by Keepers of the Wild

All Swamp Safari activities are free with regular paid admission to Cypress Gardens ($10.00 adult, $9.00 Senior, $5.00 child 6 to 12 years of age).
