MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Friday, August 9, 2024) – All Berkeley County offices will be closed today, Friday, August 9, 2024. This also includes the Courthouse, Berkeley Animal Center, Cypress Gardens, Library branches, the Berkeley County Landfill, and Convenience Centers.

Bond court will still hold a session at 2 p.m. today.

Berkeley County has transitioned back to OPCON 1 status with full activation of the Emergency Operations Center.

Many areas across the County are experiencing severe flooding and several roadways are closed. Find a list of road closures HERE. Water rescue operations have been ongoing throughout the early morning hours on Friday. Please do not drive through flooded roads or around barricades. Follow all weather updates HERE.

An emergency shelter is open at Berkeley Middle School, located at 320 N. Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner.
