MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Friday, September 26, 2025) – Berkeley County Emergency Management officials are monitoring possible heavy rain this weekend and potential impacts from Tropical System 94L, which is anticipated to begin early next week. Crews with Berkeley County Roads and Bridges are checking flood prone areas, storm drains, and culverts throughout the County ahead of the storm. Follow all updates and weather alerts from the National Weather Service HERE.

OPERATING CONDITIONS: The County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is currently at OPCON 3 (normal operating conditions). Berkeley County leaders are encouraging everyone to view our Berkeley County Hurricane Guide in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.

SANDBAGS: Sandbags are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents should bring a shovel and be prepared to fill their own bags. The following sites are self-serve:

  • Hanahan Recreation Center Ballfields: 3100 Mabeline Road, Hanahan
  • Goose Creek Public Works: 200 Button Hall Avenue, Goose Creek
  • Cainhoy Rural Vol. Fire Department – Station 6: 1004 United Drive, Huger
  • Cainhoy Rural Vol. Fire Department – Station 1: 2125 Cainhoy Road, Huger
  • Cordesville Rural Vol. Fire Dept – Station 1: 1931 SC-402, Moncks Corner
  • Alvin Community Center – 2191 Santee River Road, St. Stephen
  • Moncks Corner Fire Department – 116 Carolina Ave, Moncks Corner
  • Whitesville Fire Department – 115 Sunview Ave, Moncks Corner
  • C&B Fire Department – 509 Royle Road, Ladson
  • Longridge Fire Department – 1269 Longridge Road, Moncks Corner
  • Goose Creek Rural Fire Department – 907 Red Bank Road, Goose Creek
