MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Thursday, July 2, 2026) – Berkeley County Roads & Bridges will begin construction on the Sangaree Parkway Improvement Project on Monday, July 6. This project is designed to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety along the Sangaree Parkway corridor.
Designed and constructed in house, the project includes the construction of new turn lanes and median improvements at multiple intersections throughout Sangaree Parkway between US-17A and Royle Road.
Additionally, through the 2026 Local Resurfacing Package the entire parkway is scheduled to be resurfaced at a later date.
During construction, drivers can expect periodic lane closures, traffic shifts, and minor delays throughout the project corridor. Work will be phased to minimize disruptions; however, drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly, reduce speeds in work zones, and be on alert for construction crews and equipment.
All work on Sangaree Parkway is being funded by the Berkeley County One Cent Sales Tax Program.
