MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Tuesday, May 14, 2024) – Berkeley County Government has published an updated Hurricane Guide to reflect new hurricane evacuation zones in South Carolina.
On May 9, 2024, South Carolina Emergency Management Division announced new hurricane evacuation zones aimed at helping community preparedness and safety during hurricanes. The updated zones are designed to better reflect the evolving landscape of potential hazards and population distribution across the region. The Berkeley County Hurricane Guide includes information on hurricane risks, preparedness tips, evacuation routes, the County’s Citizen Call Line, and more. The guide is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. It was created and published by Berkeley County Emergency Management Department and the Berkeley County Public Information Office.
All three translations of the Berkeley County Hurricane Guide can be accessed digitally at www.berkeleycountysc.gov. The guide will also be available in the front lobby of the Berkeley County Administration Building, located at 1003 N. Highway 52 in Moncks Corner, and all Berkeley County Public Library branches.
