“Your financial statements present fairly—the financial position and the results of the County’s operations. (This opinion is) the highest level of assurance that we could provide to you as your external auditor.”-Trey Scott, CPA Partner, Mauldin & Jenkins

The report represents the best possible opinion the County can receive. The County has received this opinion several years in a row.

“Fiscal responsibility is a top priority of Berkeley County Council and our administration. For another year, the County’s audit showcases commitment across all County service departments to safeguard and be good stewards of taxpayer funds. We’d like to thank our Finance team for successfully handling and overseeing County funds throughout the year. A special thanks goes out to each and every County employee for exercising their duties in a fiscally responsible manner. And that, above all else, helps produce these positive results.”  -Berkeley County Supervisor Johnny Cribb
