MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Tuesday, January 27, 2026) – Berkeley County received a ‘Clean Report’ or ‘Unmodified Opinion’ following a 2025 independent audit by Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams & Co., P.A. The audit was presented to County Council on Monday, January 26, 2026.
“In our opinion, based upon our audit, the financial statements referred to above present fairly, in all material respects, the respective financial position of the governmental activities, business-type activities, each major fund, and the aggregate remaining fund information of Berkeley County, South Carolina…” – Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams & Co., P.A.
The report issued the ‘Unmodified Opinion’ based on an independent audit of financial statements and compliance requirements of major federal programs for the year ending on June 30, 2025. The report represents the best possible opinion the County can receive.
