David Hamilton joined the Berkeley County Finance Department as Finance Manager on April 12, 2022. David comes to the County after serving 21 years in the United States Air Force–his most recent role being the Senior Finance Manager of Financial Operations at Joint Base Charleston.
At Joint Base Charleston, he led a team of 22 military and civilian personnel where he was responsible for providing financial support to 3 Wings, 11 GSUs, and 67 mission partners with a population of over 70,000 Airmen, civilians, dependents, and retirees. Additionally, he headed hurricane emergency response for financial management operations, establishing a quick reaction plan; and built guides for intake of 4K payment vouchers to ensure displaced members receive rapid payments during recovery.
David has a bachelor’s degree, two federal finance certifications and is currently working to finish his MBA & Master’s in Finance through Webster University. He has two children and lives in Ladson with his 9-year-old daughter.
