Biography

David Kornahrens joined Berkeley County in 2019 and currently serves as the Chief Information Officer. He came to the County from the City of Hanahan, where he worked for six years.
Kornahrens wore several hats during his time at Hanahan, serving in law enforcement, 911 communications, Information Technology and other areas. He was pivotal in advancing the City and was vital to the leadership in Hanahan.
Before joining the Hanahan Police Department, David worked as a Mechanical Start-up Engineer for a Chemical/Polysilicon facility in Nashville, TN. Prior to that, he spent a few years with Jacobs Engineering Group as a project turnover manager for a petrochemical facility.
David lives in Hanahan with his wife and their son. When he’s not working, David enjoys reading technology news and spending time on the rivers and lakes.
