Jenna-Ley Harrison is the Berkeley County Public Information Officer, working in the Public Information Office.
She came to Berkeley County in September 2019 from Summerville Communications, Inc., where she worked more than four years as a staff reporter for the company’s three weekly newspapers: Summerville Journal Scene, Berkeley Independent and Goose Creek Gazette. Prior to that, she filled a print reporter position with Lincoln Times-News, a tri-weekly publication near her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Harrison’s prior work experience also includes public relations work with the National League of Junior Cotillions, Inc., also based in Charlotte, and freelance work for the Charlotte Observer, Charleston Living Magazine and various other publications across the Carolinas.
Harrison is a graduate of UNC-Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications Studies, with a concentration in mass media, and a minor in journalism. She’s lived in the Lowcountry since 2014. When not at work, Harrison enjoys running, singing for her church and forcing her pet Pitbull Reagan to pose for yet another photo.
She is a also a recent graduate of the Advanced Public Information Officer course through FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute.
