Jenna-Ley Walls has been the Berkeley County Public Information Office since September 2021. She started with the County in September 2019 as the Asst. Public Information Officer. In June 2022, she completed the Advanced Public Information Officer Program through FEMA’s National Disaster and Emergency Management Institute University (NDEMU).

Walls is a graduate of UNC-Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications Studies, with a concentration in mass media, and a minor in journalism.

Prior to joining the local government sector, Walls worked 10 years in the news industry, filling the role of print journalist for community newspapers with Summerville Communications, Inc. in Summerville, SC and the Lincoln Times-News near her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Walls also worked for a year as the Public Relations / Officer Manager for the National League of Junior Cotillions’ corporate office, also based in Charlotte, and served as freelance writer for the Charlotte Observer and other publications throughout the Carolinas. She remains a freelance writer with Charleston Living Magazine.

Walls has lived in the Lowcountry since 2014. When not at work, she enjoys running, singing at church and spending time with her husband and three Pitbulls.
