LeChele Nole Brown, a Berkeley County native, has served as the County’s Grants Administrator since March 2024. In this role she oversees multiple County Department grants as well as PARD, SCORF and ARPA projects. LeChele started her career as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Specialist in January 2023. In this role, she worked under the direction of the Finance Director and was responsible for the implementation of the County’s CDBG program which is funded through the Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Prior to joining the team, she worked at International Paper in Georgetown for 17 years in Customer Service.

LeChele graduated from Macedonia High School and later received her bachelor’s degree at Benedict College. She is married to Wilford Brown Jr., and they share three children: daughter, Dakeera, and sons, DeOndre and Markese.

In her free time, LeChele enjoys shopping, traveling, and volunteering with different church, social, and community organizations. She’s also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, President of 29453 Community Neighborhood Watch, serves on the BCSO Advisory Board, and is the founder of 29453 Steppers Jamestown. She lives by the motto “If I can help somebody along my journey then my living is not in vain.”
