Amy Stern is a longtime Berkeley County resident, former Sheriff’s deputy, and small business owner.

Amy Stern grew up in Upstate New York before moving to Berkeley County in high school and graduating from Lord Berkeley Academy.

After graduating from high school, Amy began her career caring for those in need. While serving as an animal cruelty investigator with the John Ancrum SPCA, Amy married her husband, Travis. Amy and Travis have two teenagers who were born and raised in Berkeley County.

Amy started her public service career working for the John Ancrum SPCA. After three years working at the ASPCA, Amy began working as a Sheriff’s Deputy with Berkeley County.

In 1997, Amy and her husband Travis purchased the small pawn store, Gene’s Pawn in Moncks Corner. Under the couple’s leadership, the business has turned into three successful stores across the Lowcountry.
