Biography

Wilson is a lifelong resident of Berkeley County and lives in Moncks Corner with his wife and three children. Mr. Baggett began his career with the Berkeley County Real Property Services (Assessor’s) office in 1989 as an Appraiser. He has served as Senior Appraiser, Deputy Assessor and became the Berkeley County Assessor in 2009.

Baggett holds a Certified General Appraisal License and has guided Berkeley County through six Reassessment programs. He has also assisted other Counties with their Reassessment programs. Mr. Baggett is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officials (IAAO), South Carolina Association of Assessing Officials (SCAAO) and the County Assessors of South Carolina (CASC). He has served on the CASC Board and served as the SCAAO Secretary, Parliamentarian, Chaplin, Vice-President and was elected as SCAAO President in 2014.
He was elected as Berkeley County Auditor in November 2024 and began serving his four-year term on July 1, 2025.

Baggett enjoys working with his staff daily in meeting the needs in one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation. His goal for Berkeley County is to exceed expectations from all demands both customer and government.
