Biography

Josh Whitley is a Berkeley County native residing and practicing law on Daniel Island. He is in his third term as finance chairman. As a leader in his community, he has chaired civic organizations, including Charleston Stage at the Dock Street Theater; has served as chairman of the County Republican Party; a member of the South Carolina Republican Executive Committee, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.

He is proud alumnus of Wofford College, where he was Phi Beta Kappa, President of the Student Body, and now serves as a member of its Board of Trustees. He also graduated from the College of William & Mary School of Law where he was a member of The Order of the Coif and The Order of Barristers and won national awards in advocacy. Following law school, he served as a law clerk with the Honorable Dennis W. Shedd of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Josh proudly represents Daniel Island, the Clements Ferry Corridor, Hanahan, and Goose Creek on Council and loves contributing to his home county’s future.
