Carolyn Mitchum Umphlett was elected as Berkeley County Treasurer in November 1981. She has been employed in the Treasurer’s Office since August 1, 1961. She is a graduate of Berkeley High School.
She has three adult children and four grandchildren.
She is a member of Moncks Corner United Methodist Church where she has served in many offices over the years.
In her spare time, she enjoys working in her yard, fishing, and enjoying her grandchildren.
