MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Friday, February 28, 2025) – Berkeley County’s Keep Berkeley Beautiful (KBB) chapter is hosting its annual Great American Clean-up event in Cross 7:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Participants may meet at the Cross Community Center, located at 1690 Old Highway 6. The cleanup will focus on the three-mile stretch of highway from the intersection of Highway 6 and Ranger Road to the Diversion Canal. Individuals interested in participating in the Great American Cleanup in Cross are asked to register by contacting Jennifer Green at 843-754-8302 or ten.htuosllebobfsctd@laliame. The Jerrell Clyde Foundation is also sponsoring the event.

KBB leaders are also encouraging community members to volunteer and host their own separate litter clean-up events throughout the county from March 20 to June 20 in coordination with the statewide Great American Clean-up effort hosted by PalmettoPride. If interested, individuals can select a time, date and location for an event during that timeframe; gather volunteers; and notify Keep Berkeley Beautiful, who will share the event details and provide volunteers with all necessary litter clean-up supplies (i.e. bags, litter pick up sticks, safety vests, and gloves). Please contact Sarah McCarthy Smith at (843)719-2383 or vog.csytnuocyelekrebobfsctd@htimS.haraS for more details.

Keep Berkeley Beautiful also received a $10,000 Keep South Carolina Beautiful—PalmettoPride Support Grant in February. The grant will help fund the following KBB items:

  • Keep America Beautiful Annual Affiliate Fee ($440)
