MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Friday, January 23, 2026) – Berkeley County will host a drop-in public information meeting for the U.S. 176 Widening Project Phase 2. The project consists of widening U.S. 176 from two to four lanes from Nexton Parkway to Jedburg Road, with turn lanes at the intersections. 

The meeting will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:30 7:30 p.m. at the Cane Bay High School Cafeteria, located at 1624 State Road in Summerville. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the project and provide feedback.

An online version of the meeting materials is available at US176BerkeleySC.com.Those who cannot attend the meeting can review the information and provide their comments using the online form.

U.S. 176 Widening Project Phase 2 aims to accommodate an increase in traffic and address increasing congestion. The project is funded through the 2022 One Cent Sales Tax Referendum. Learn more about the One Cent Sales Tax Program HERE.
