MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Thursday, January 29, 2026) – With the threat of winter weather and frigid temperatures forecasted for our area Saturday and Sunday, Berkeley County Emergency Management and County leaders are coordinating resources to keep communities safe. Crews with Berkeley County Roads and Bridges will start pretreatment operations on Friday. This will include applying brine to county-maintained roads, bridges, and facilities. Treatment will continue throughout the weekend or while areas remain dry. SCDOT is already pre-treating I-26 overpasses and ramps and will start treating county primary routes on Friday. On Friday, state crews will also begin conducting around-the-clock operations.

In the event of a power or water outage, please call our Citizen Call Line, for non-emergency calls only. Callers will hear an automated response available 24/7 and information for local utilities and other critical contacts. **For all emergencies, please call 911.**

WARMING CENTERS: Multiple area warming centers will be open nightly Thursday through Monday. View full list and details HERE.
BOND COURT: Bond Court will hold one session each at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1. Currently, court is scheduled to resume normal hours on Monday, February 2 at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
REPORTING DAMAGE: Any resident or business that sustains structural damage from winter weather is urged to report it HERE or via the Citizen Call Line at 843-719-4800and leave a detailed message. These reports will determine appropriate federal and state funding for weather-related damage. **For all emergencies, please call 911.**
