
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Friday, September 27, 2024) — Due to inclement weather from Hurricane Helene, all BerkeleyCounty offices will operate on a two-hour delayed opening on Friday, September 27, 2024. Offices will open at 10 a.m. This includes all Government offices, the Courthouse, Landfill and all Convenience Centers, Libraries, Cypress Gardens, and Berkeley Animal Center.
Berkeley County remains at OPCON 2 with limited activation of the Emergency Operations Center. Emergency Management officials continue monitoring the storm, as the County remains under a Flash Flood Warning and Tornado Watch. A Flash Flood Warning means flood conditions are imminent or occurring. Tornado Watch means conditions are possible for a tornado to form.
On Wednesday, SC Governor Henry McMaster declared a State of Emergency ahead of the storm. Find all storm updates HERE.

REPORTING STORM DAMAGE: If your residence or business sustains storm damage in the coming days, please report it HERE. Those without internet access can report storm damage by calling the Citizen Call Line at 843-719-4800 and leaving a detailed voicemail. Reporting storm damage will help Berkeley County staff gauge the extent of damage in the County and report the findings to state and federal officials. These reports will determine appropriate federal and state funding for damage caused by the storm.
