MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (Thursday, March 21, 2019) The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a deadly shooting that occurred in the Goose Creek area of Berkeley County on Wednesday.
Deputies arrested 23-year-old Lamont Mark Garrett, of Hanahan, in connection with a shooting that left one man dead.
Berkeley County Deputies responded to the 100 block of Liberty Hall Road in Goose Creek in reference to a shooting. When they arrived on scene they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
The Berkeley County Coroner George Oliver identified the victim as 40-year-old Alvin J. Walker.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
This is the fourth homicide in 2019 that has taken place in Berkeley County.
