Biography

David Taschner is the Director of the Facilities & Grounds Department joining the Berkeley County Government team in 1999 as a Senior HVAC Technician. David became the Public Buildings department head in 2002 after a successful twelve-year private sector management career, following his six year military obligation in the (United States Navy 1977 – 1982).
He has more than four decades of experience in the field of construction and facility maintenance, and three of those decades have been spent as a member of management. David possesses a coaching style of leadership and is always mindful of his responsibilities to co-workers and citizens alike, as a County leader.
David enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time, as well as stock car racing.
As three sport lettermen in high school, David continues to follow football, baseball and basketball as his lifelong passions.
