Biography

Director of Berkeley County Library Services since 2017, Gene developed his love of libraries and of assisting library customers while working at the Charleston County Public Library, and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Library. He previously served as IT Director for the Berkeley County Library System.
Gene was born and raised in South Carolina and earned a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston.
