Mark Dirks is the Director of Roads & Bridges.
Marks is a resident of Moncks Corner and has lived in Berkeley County his entire life. Mark is happily married to Angel R Dirks also from Moncks Corner. Mark and Angel have two girls Layla and Auberi and four boys Anthony, Ryan, Jason, and Steve. Mark spends most of his free time at the ballpark or cheer events where his kids enjoy the game of baseball and competitive cheer.
Mark started volunteering with the Moncks Corner Rural Fire department in 2003 where he became firefighter II & fire instructor certified and held a captain’s position for multiple years. Mark has since turned his badge in due to his kids participating in sports but hopes to continue serving the community later in life.
Mark graduated from Berkeley High School in 2000. Shortly after (2001) he became an employee with Berkeley County Roads & Bridges, where he started as a maintenance worker. Through his years of service, he has moved up to the Director of Roads & Bridges. Through the years, Mark has held positions such as heavy equipment operator, road construction supervisor and construction and maintenance supervisor.
