Nick Yoder joined Berkeley County in 2019 and currently serves as the Greenbelt Program Manager. Prior to coming to the County, he earned his master’s degree at the University of Maryland in Landscape Architecture where he focused on Wildlife Habitat Design and Recreation; repurposing failed golf courses into park spaces. After graduation, he spent time working with the Sierra Club, DNR Maryland Forest Service, and, during a stint with AmeriCorps, worked with Reading Partners where he helped with literacy initiatives in underserved public schools.
Since joining the County, Nick has served as the Naturalist at Cypress Gardens working as a steward for the park wildlife while educating the public about Lowcountry ecology. He also filled the role of Farm and Land Services specialist, working alongside the Berkeley Soil and Water Conservation District on various projects – most notably as the coordinator of the Berkeley Bees Program.
Nick lives in Moncks Corner. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, chess, music, watching baseball, and taking walks around town.
