The South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund (SCORF) Board was created by legislation as a requirement of the South Carolina Opioid Settlement Allocation Agreement. The SCORF Board manages and disburses funds within the South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund and is comprised of nine members who are appointed as follows:

  • The Governor appoints one member to serve as the Chair of the Board.
  • The President of the Senate appoints one member.
  • The Speaker of the House appoints one member.
  • The Governor appoints three members, the Speaker one member, and the President of the Senate one member from a list provided by the South Carolina Association of Counties with at least one member from each of the South Carolina Public Health Regions as defined by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
  • The Governor appoints one member from a list provided by the South Carolina Municipal Association.

The Opioid Recovery Act requires all SCORF Board members to be academic, medical, licensed health, or other professionals with significant experience in opioid prevention, treatment, or intervention.
