Cypress Gardens proudly presents a unique “Lunch & Learn” featuring Master Gardener Vivian Whorley:

Garden Design and Rain Chains in Japanese Gardens
Wednesday, July 30th
12:00 noon – 1:30PM
Cost: Free for Tri-County Master Gardeners and Cypress Gardens Season Pass Holders; $10.00 per person general admission

The presentation is inspired by Whorley’s recent trip to Kamakura, Japan, which included visits to two gardens during her stay.  She was impressed with the design, organization and utilization of space and noted the use of decorative rain chains to artfully manage runoff from roofs. She will speak about these and other aspects of Japanese gardens and culture during this presentation illustrated by photos from her trip.

“We are striving to offer different, unique programs to both educate and enrich the knowledge of participants,” explains Heather Graham, Manager of Cypress Gardens. “Ms. Whorley’s program will offer interesting dialog and insight into how the breathtaking gardens of Japan are cultivated and sustained.”

Contact Dwight Williams at or 843-553-0515 for more information or to register. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch dish to share.
