Support the community by participating in Goose Creek Police Department’s 8th Annual Hot Pursuit 5K! The race takes place Saturday, June 13 at 8:30am. A free kid’s run will begin at 7:30am at the lake behind City Hall. All proceeds from this event go directly toward GCPD sponsored events such as Operation Christmas Joy & Shop with a Badge. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in seven age groups. This year, runner’s times can qualify for other races across the Lowcountry. Celebrate Our Country, Our Freedom, and Our Nation’s Birthday by making Daniel Island one of the “Most Patriotic Towns in America.” Paint the Town Red, White, and Blue, and join in for Daniel Island’s Independence Day festivities on Thursday, July 3rd, with neighbors, friends, and family. Dress up your homes, your businesses, your bikes, and your golf carts with patriotic colors and take part in our island tradition of honoring this wonderful holiday.
This event takes place every Friday at 7:00pm during the month of July 2026.

Below are some helpful “know before you go” tips for our Annual Fabulous 4th in the Creek! The walking path around the Municipal Pond will close at 7am on July 4th. The Recreation Complex buildings are CLOSED. Due to construction, parking is limited! A complimentary shuttle service will run from Westview Elementary school to the event. Shuttles will run every 10 minutes from 5pm-10:30pm. On site parking will be available at the Recreation Complex & event parking fields. Accessible parking is available with a valid placard. Golf cart transport is available once attendees have parked, please note that golf cart transport is NOT available post-event or in the dark. Double reminder: parking on site is LIMITED. Event entry & parking is FREE! Activities include balloon animals, bubbles, face painting, crafts & more! The following items are PROHIBITED at the event: outside alcohol, tents, umbrellas, and pets. Service animals are welcome! That summer sun is HOT! We advise all attendees to stay hydrated & wear sunscreen. Outside coolers are permitted (subject to searching at staff discretion) – but remember, no outside alcohol allowed. The event runs from 6:30pm-9:30pm. The firework show will begin between 9pm-9:15pm. If you have parked on-site, expect a right hand turn only to exit the event onto Highway 52. We aren’t known to cancel this show, but all weather updates will be shared on social media. Keep a lookout just in case. We are so excited to celebrate 4th of July in the Creek with you all!

You’re invited! The 2026 National Night Out celebration is set for 5 to 8pm on Tuesday, Aug. 4, here at the Municipal Center. Make plans to bring the family to what is always a fun and informative event!
Cool off and celebrate the start of the school year with a splash! The Goose Creek Fire Department will be on site with their fire truck and hose, along with water balloons, water gun races, and plenty of other wet and wild activities. Join the Travis Manion Foundation on September 12th at 8:00 AM in front of the City of Charleston Fire Station on Daniel Island for the 15th Annual 9/11 Heroes Run. The 9/11 Heroes Run unites communities internationally with the goal to never forget the sacrifices of the heroes of September 11th and the wars since, veterans, first responders, civilians, and the military. The run will impact traffic on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The route is as follows: West on Seven Farms Drive to the traffic circle at Daniel Island Drive South (left) on Daniel Island Drive past the library, Daniel Island School, and Smythe Park to Wando Landing Drive East (left) on Wando Landing Drive to Pierce Street North (left) on Pierce Street to Barfield Street North (right) on Barfield Street to Daniel Island Drive North (right) on Daniel Island Drive to the traffic circle at Seven Farms Drive East (right) on Seven Farms Drive to the Start / Finish line Other Event Details: As in past years, it is suggested that residents plan ahead, and if they know they are going to need to leave the island during the race, they park their car on a street that is not impacted by the closure. Seven Farms from River Landing to Pier View will be closed from 5 a.m. for setup and will remain closed until the race has concluded. For the course, roads will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or sooner. The race coordinators are using a rolling closure for the roads, which means they will open as the last runner passes.
Grab a partner and join the fun at our Cornhole Tournament, where patrons can come out and compete for great prizes. The event will also feature live music, beer from Neighborhood Taphouse, crafts, and plenty of family-friendly fun on the Green.

Bring the whole family, costumes encouraged for both humans and their furry friends! Dogs and their owners can walk the runway to model their costumes for a fun and festive contest. The event will also feature pet vendors and organizations, Uptown Carnes pet-related businesses, crafts, a DJ, and maybe even a surprise appearance by a Disney princess or two.
Join us on Main Street and in Unity Park for our 15th Annual Halloween Festival in The Lowcountry’s Halloweentown. We will have a costume contest, food, lots of trick or treat opportunities and our famous Haunted Depot. Please join us to celebrate Christmas in The Lowcountry’s Hometown. Our 33rd Annual Tree Lighting will have live performances by local school groups, the Mocolotive, vendors and so much more.
Cypress Gardens’ Christmas event will be a festive celebration filled with holiday cheer, featuring special visits from Santa Claus and the Grinch. Families will enjoy cheerful photo opportunities, seasonal fun, and a variety of children’s crafts designed to spark creativity and holiday magic. With joyful activities and a warm community spirit, the event will bring everyone together to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
We wrap up a wonderful year of programs at Uptown Carnes with a festive holiday celebration. Families can enjoy photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a cookie decorating station, holiday crafts, and a hot drink spotlight station. The fun continues with a singing elf and a few mischievous Elves on the Shelf spreading holiday cheer throughout the event as we celebrate the season together.
Join us for our Nighttime Christmas Parade. Bring your chairs and find a spot along the route. The parade will begin in front of Delta Pharmacy and travel down Main Street. It will end at Berkeley High School. Our parade is rain or shine.
Road closures begin at 6:30am.
Get ready to celebrate four years of Central Creek Park at Winter Wonderland, taking place Jan. 16 at 5pm! From 5-8pm at Central Creek Park enjoy face painting, balloon animals, live ice sculpture demonstrations, pony rides, character appearances, crafts, and a SNOW lot more.
