Department Functions

It is of great importance to each employee in the Berkeley County EMS system that we emulate pride and professionalism when dealing with patients, coworkers and the general public.

BCEMS provides rapid 24 hour services to meet varying emergent needs of those experiencing an emergency. Our staff consist of nearly 70 highly trained medical providers, and support staff, responding to nearly 17,000 calls each year. Our medical professionals are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Rest assured that as our county continues to grow, so will our service to meet the calls for service. Our commitment to each individual is that we will provide you the best care, in the most efficient and timely manner possible.
